Paoli, Indiana

Paoli is a town in Paoli Township, Orange County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 3,677 at the 2010 census. The town is the county seat of Orange County.

Paoli was laid out and platted in 1816. It was named for Pasquale Paoli Ash, the son of North Carolina governor Samuel Ashe. A post office has been in operation at Paoli since 1817.

In its first decades, it was noted as a Quaker town that played a role in the Underground Railroad by transporting enslaved people from the South to Canada. In the 1900s it became known as the site of the Pioneer Mothers Memorial Forest, a surviving fragment of the once-extensive virgin oak forest of southern Indiana.

    Indiana State Road 37 was re-routed in Crawford and Perry Counties in 2007. It is now concurrent with State Road 64 between English and an intersection just north of Eckerty, From there, it diverts south to St. Croix and continues along original route.

    Personally, I think the service is really "Myeh" over at THIS particular KFC-Taco Bell. For a long time, you couldn't go through the drive-thru without them messing up your order one way or another. But it's gotten better, not perfect, but a lot better.

    MY HUSBAND CAME TO KFC 2 DAYS AGO, ON OCTOBER 12TH, 2007, AND ORDERED 2----2 PC. EXTRA CRISPY CHICKEN DINNERS TO GO . WHEN HE GOT HOME WITH THEM THERE WAS A BIG LONG HAIR ON ONE OF THE PIECES OF CHICKEN. DO YOU ALL KNOW WHAT HAIR NETS ARE FOR? THAT IS TOTALLY GROSS. I AM SORRY , BUT THIS REALLY UPSET US BOTH. WHEN I PAY FOR MY FOOD I EXPECT TO GET TOP QUALITY FOOD,AND SERVICE , NOT SOMETHING NASTY. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO MAKE SURE THE EMPLOYEES ARE FOLLOWING RULES,AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE WEARING HAIR NETS WHEN THEY ARE WORKING AROUND THE FOOD.IF SOMETHING ISNT DONE ABOUT THIS WE WILL TAKE OUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.
